So this past Sunday July 11th, there was an event I attended called "A Century of Arts & Architecture in Haiti" in Queens at the Queensbridge Museum. This was a last minute event, but let me tell you this was such an amazing experience for me... I felt a sense of pride for my culture & history. They also had 3 guest speakers who discussed the importance of Haiti rebuilding.  One speaker that caught my attention was Anton Martinez (yes he is Haitian don't let the last name fool u), he talked about the past, present, and future of architecture in Haiti & naturally he talked about our history, which I knew little about.. God willing, I can have him speak for the Haitian benefit that my best friend Chrisla and I are putting together.  Overall, I had a wonderful time.
